IMPORTANT: STAINBUSTER® burs act as grinding instruments, not as cutting burs: they act by grinding layer after layer. Therefore, to be efficient, STAINBUSTER® burs have to be used at low speed, between 5,000 and 10,000 rpm, applying light pressure and with a fine water spray.
The water spray carries away the grinding debris, cleans up the working field, and enhances visibility and control.
Using a water spray, the abrasive action is far softer and STAINBUSTERS lose none of their effectiveness.
High speed would clog the spaces between the fibers sections and reduce their abrasive power.
Note that STAINBUSTER® burs do not heat as they work and using them without water spray is by no way harmful or contra-indicated at low speed: in this case, of course, pratitioners and hygienists should simply spray and rinse out the instrumented area to remove any kind of debris left.
