STAINBUSTER® burs are instruments intended for use by practitioners and hygienists at chairside for professional cleaning of the dentition, for periodontics in finishing in-depth scaling and root tissue planing, orthodontics in completing the elimination of residual adhesive cement from the enamel’s surface after removing bands or brackets and, lastly, for daily practice in grinding away the surplus composite fillings and sealant materials: all these operations are performed efficiently and without danger for the dental tissues concerned and without any harm whatsoever to the soft tissues.

Removal of stains and coloured coatings from the surface of the teeth, including in difficult-to-reach places (interproximal faces of the lower incisors, for example), with absolutely no harm to the dental enamel.

Smoothing of the enamel after ultrasonic scaling, light teeth scaling: the dentist or hygienist first uses manual instruments, then the ultrasonics. When the work is completed, minuscule residual particles leave the patient with a sensation of a rough surface and, more importantly, are initiator nuclei in forming new tartar crystals. The use of a STAINBUSTER® bur as a finishing tool makes the tooth surface smooth and comfortable and delays tartar reforming.
STAINBUSTER® burs are not designed for heavy scaling, but they can be used for light maintenance scaling and teeth cleaning.

Grinding of composite fillings, particularly composite surplus between the teeth where any other rotary instrument would be likely to harm the enamel: after using a STAINBUSTER®, bur all that is required is a final polish to make the teeth shine.
